Atlantic 10 Release

Fordham freshman Jessica Hughes (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week for games played February 15^th-21^st.  It is the first career weekly honor for Hughes.
 
Hughes hit .429 (6-for-14) over the weekend at the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Foundation Invitational with an on-base percentage of .529. She also recorded two stolen bases and two runs scored. She recorded base hits in three of the five games and was 4-for-4 at the plate against #12/14 Tennessee, the first four-hit game of her career.
 
Through ten games, Hughes leads the Rams with a .346 batting average and four stolen bases.
 
The Fordham softball team is back in action this weekend at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.  The Rams open the Classic on Friday with an 11:00 AM contest against Syracuse, which will be shown on ESPN3, as well as a 3:30 showdown with North Florida.  The Rams will then play Penn State and Morgan State on Saturday at 3:30 and 5:45 PM respectively, while on Sunday, Fordham will play former Atlantic 10 foe, Charlotte at 10:00 AM.
