2016: Made a major impact in the Bronx as a freshman, setting the all-time record for steals in a season and reaching the all-time top five by year’s end, starting and appearing in all but one of 60 contests between shortstop and second base… Named A-10 Rookie of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and to the All-Rookie squad… Four-time Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Week… Designated as a member of the ECAC Division I Second Team and the NFCA All-Region Third Team… One of 25 to be named a finalist for NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year… Batted .352/.469/.445 on the year, with the on-base percentage ranking second in the conference and fifth-highest in a single season at Fordham, with 36 steals in 41 attempts and a conference-leading 37 walks to 19 strikeouts… Co-led the team with 64 hits and paced the squad with 56 runs, mostly from the leadoff spot, and added three home runs, six doubles, a triple, and 21 RBIs… As the team’s leadoff hitter, successfully reached base 27 times to start games, stealing second base 12 of those times (44.4%), including an incredible 16 times in 22 conference contests… First on the team with 18 multi-hit games and had an incredible stretch in which the freshman speedster reached base in 33 consecutive contests, a stretch in which Hughes batted .380 (38-for-100), reached base at a spectacular .530 clip and slugged the same, with 31 walks (compared to just eight strikeouts), 47 runs scored, and 26 stolen bases… Notched first career hit with a lead-off single in the fourth inning against #5 Alabama (2/12)… Stole first career base against Rutgers at UCF Invitational (2/13)… Enjoyed first career multi-hit game by pacing the offense with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate, all singles, and a stolen base after her first inning single at Stetson (2/14)… Had four of the team’s eight hits against #11 Tennessee in four at bats, all singles, with a stolen base (2/20)… Went 2-for-4 against North Florida with a double, RBI, run, and stolen base (2/26)… 2-for-4 with RBI single and double against Morgan State (2/27)… Enjoyed a 3-for-6 day at the plate against Providence in the team’s home-opening doubleheader, with two RBIs, three runs, and three stolen bases (3/11)… Went 2-for-3 with a walk, a RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored against Saint Peter’s (3/13)… Reached base all five times against Hofstra, kicking the game off with a double and scoring later in the frame, and finishing 2-for-2 with three walks, three runs scored, and a RBI (3/16)… Went 2-for-3 with a RBI, walk, and three runs scored against Towson (3/18)… Singled, stole both second and third, and came around to score, her lone hit in four at bats, against Mount St. Mary’s (3/18)… Walked, stole second, and scored in the first inning against Towson (3/19)… Blasted her first career home run, a two-run shot, as part of a 2-for-3 day at the plate against Massachusetts (3/26)… Reached base three times via two walks and a hit by pitch in four plate appearances and stole three bases (3/31)… Reached base in all four plate appearances in game one at Saint Joseph’s, with three singles and a walk, plus two stolen bases and three runs scored game one against Saint Louis, plus a first inning stolen base that moved her into the all-time top 10 in program history and a second theft later in the game to break a brief tie for second-most in a single season (4/16)… Set the program’s single season record for steals in a season with a theft in game one of a doubleheader at Rhode Island, finishing the contest 0-for-1 with three walks and three runs scored, then expanding her lead with three stolen bases in game two after singling, walking three more times, and scoring four runs (4/23)… Singled and walked twice, and stole two bases, in six plate appearances in a doubleheader sweep at Dayton (4/30)… Singled and stole two bases in a tight 1-0 victory over Dayton in the second game of the A-10 Tournament (5/14)… Singled twice and doubled in three at bats in a win over Massachusetts (5/15)… Came through with a big two-out RBI single in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead over Saint Joseph’s and later added a walk (5/15)… Singled twice and scored twice in the Rams’ championship-clinching victory over the Hawks (5/15)… Finishes her first season in the Bronx with the fifth-most stolen bases in program history, as well as the most steals (36), third-most walks (37), and fourth-most runs (56) in a single season...
Before Fordham: Four-year member of the varsity softball team at Washington Township High School... 2015 Mex Preps Softball All-American... Hit .654 with an on-base percentage of .690 and a slugging percetnage of 1.154 as a senior... Led the Garden State with 68 hits, 24 doubles, 53 runs and 47 RBI out of the leadoff spot... Ended her career with 219 hits.. Three-time First Team All-Group 4 and First Team All-Olympic Conference en route to leading her squad to the three straight South Jersey Group 4 titles...
