Box Score Charlottesville, Va. – The Fordham University women's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Saturday as the Rams fell to top-seeded VCU, 4-0, at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships at the Boar's Head Sports Club.
The match opened with Fordham dropping the doubles point as VCU's Ludivine Burguiere and Olga Barshcheuskaya defeated
Julie Leong and
Estelle Wong at third doubles, 8-3, and Cindy Chala and Salome Kvitashvili bested
Sarah Ali and
Elliesa Ball at the first position, 8-4.
VCU then won the first three completed singles matches for the victory. Chala defeated Ball in straight sets at first singles, 6-0, 6-2, Darya Berezhnaya upended
Destiny Grunin at the fifth position, 6-1, 6-1, and Burguiere was victorious at fourth singles over Leong, 6-2, 6-2.
Bella Genkina took the first set at sixth singles from Ana Batiri, 6-4 and was leading the second, 4-3, when the match was halted.
