Women's ResultsIn a loaded field of nationally and regionally ranked teams, the Fordham cross country squad ran at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, hosted by Boston College at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

A total of ten nationally ranked squads, which included the #1 ranked Michigan women's team and the #3 ranked Oregon men's squad, laced the star-studded field of runners on Friday afternoon.

In addition to the Michigan women, the field also included #5 Georgetown, #15 Syracuse, #16 Boston College, #18 Providence, and #25 Dartmouth. Other teams at the event were Connecticut, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Hartford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Lipscomb, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Rhode Island and Stony Brook.

Michigan won the team title with a score of 55 points, placing four runners in the top 15 finishers, followed by Georgetown (77), Syracuse (134), Boston College (192), and Dartmouth (207). Fordham would place 20
th overall with a score of 596.

Boston College's Liv Westphal paced the field to win individual honors, clocking in with a time of 16:30, followed by Michigan's Erin Finn (16:51) and Shannon Osika (17:03).

Brianna TevnanFor Fordham,
Brianna Tevnan had another strong performance, scoring 80
th overall with a career-best time of 18:25 over the 5K course.Â
Brianne Roche was the next Ram across the line, scoring 124
th in 19:18, while
Mara Lieberman scored 127
th in 19:26. Other runners for Fordham included
Brynna Harum (129 points - 19:33),
Shea Williams (136 – 20:07),
Stephanie Leo (138 – 20:12), and
Melissa Higgins (140 – 20:21).

On the men's side, Oregon was joined by #8 Syracuse, #13 Columbia, and #16 Providence as nationally ranked teams in the field. Other squads competing were Boston College, Connecticut, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fordham, Georgetown, Hartford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Lipscomb, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Rhode Island, and Stony Brook.

Oregon took home the team title rather easily with a score of 24 points, as the Ducks had six runners in the top 15, led by the individual winner of the race Edward Cheserek in 24:20. Syracuse placed second with 52 points, followed by Providence (79), Georgetown (103), and Dartmouth (142).

Fordham had a pretty strong showing, as the Rams placed tenth out of the 19-team field with 324 points.
Â
Individually,
Brian Cook was Fordham's top finisher, scoring 50
th overall in a time of 25:28 over the five-mile course, while
Quincy O'Connor scored 60
th with a career-best time of 25:39.Â
Mike Turi scored one spot behind O'Connor in 61
st (25:40), followed by
Thomas Slattery (75 points – 25:59),
Louis Santelli (78 – 26:01),
Jonathan Annelli (110 – 26:20),
Nik O'Brien (130 – 26:34), and
Jake Duckworth (177 - 28:10).

The Fordham cross country team will have a week away from competition before returning to action on Friday, October 10
th at the Metropolitan Cross Country Championship, held at Van Cortlandt Park, beginning at 2:00 PM.
