BRONX, N.Y.- In two years with the Fordham softball program,
Patti Maloney has already taken home a pair of Atlantic 10 crowns and seen significant action in the NCAA Tournament. On Tuesday night in Waldorf, Md., the rising junior will be presented with another amazing opportunity, as her summer team takes on Team USA in an exhibition tilt tomorrow night.
Â
Maloney, a Poolesville, Md., native, is a member of the Maryland-DC All-Stars, a team of local amateur players comprising the best that The Old Line State has to offer. Team USA will be taking on these collegiate players in preparation for the International Softball Federation Women's World Championship, which will be held in the Netherlands from August 15-24.
Â
In two seasons at Rose Hill, Maloney has made a significant contribution to the Rams' pitching staff, tossing crucial frames in the A-10 Championship as the Rams claimed the 2013 conference title. As a sophomore in 2014, Maloney tied the school and conference record with six saves, finishing the season tied for fourth in the nation in that category.
