Stony Brook, N.Y. (April 19, 2014) – The Fordham University men's and women's outdoor track teams compete in the Wolfie Invitational on Saturday at Stony Brook University where the women paced second and the men fourth.

The Rams had four event winners on the day, three for the women and one for the men. On the women's side,
Danielle Rowe won the 400m in 57.67,
Mara Lieberman was victorious in the 800m in 2:14.48 and
Christina Vivinetto took gold in the 3000m in 10:18.83 and while
Austin Ruiz won the shot put with a toss of 48' 4.5".

Besides Vivinetto,
Brianne Roche,
Sarah Glockenmeier and
Ariana Bottalico also scored for the Fordham women in the 3000m, taking second (10:20.10), third (10:22.88) and fifth (10:24.14), respectively.

Joining Rowe in scoring in the 400m was
Kristen Stuart, who was fourth (58.77) and
Elise Tigani, who placed sixth (59.42) while
Domenica Lostritto (tenth - 1:04.01),
Leah Ganey (12
th - 1:04.81),
Karina Estrella (15
th - 1:07.32) and Gabrielle Robertson (16
th - 1:14.72) also ran in the race.

In the 200m,
Titi Fagade was the top Ram finisher, placing fifth in 25.66 while
Danielle Rowe (11
th - 26.46) and
Kristen Stuart (13
th - 26.85) placed among the top 15.

Melissa Higgins scored in the 400m hurdles for Fordham with a second place showing in 1:03.71 while
Mia Toffoli scored in the 800m for the Rams, taking fifth (2:17.59).
Georgeanne Siller (14
th - 2:28.89) and
Kerry Sorenson (16
th - 2:30.39) also finished in the top 16 in the 800m.

In the 1500m,
Kerry Sorenson scored with a fifth place finish in 4:54.59 while
Amanda Foggia (ninth – 5:12.42) and
Shannon McKenna (tenth - 5:15.18) also competed.

In women's field events,
Hailey Serrano placed seventh in the hammer (114' 0") and the discus (103' 4"), both season-best throes, and tenth in the shot (30' 0.25") while
Caitlin Hart was eighth in the javelin with a season-best throw of 106' 5", ninth in the shot (31' 11.5") and tenth in the discus (98' 1").

In women's relays, the Fordham 4x400 team placed fifth in 4:09.17 while the 4x100 placed seventh in 54.40 seconds.

In the men's 1500m,
Devin Rocks placed second in a season-best time of 3:56.46, 0.64 seconds behind the winner, while
Randall Turner took seventh (4:07.52),
Kyle Clonan was 12
th (4:10.32),
William Slattery took 15
th (4:15.49) and
Peter Strom was 17
th (4:17.14).

The Rams had seven runners in the 800m, led by
Daniel Green who placed sixth in 1:57.34 while Rocks was eighth (1:57.73), Clonan was 12
th (1:59.29), Turner was 13
th (1:59.67), Strom was 14
th (2:00.54), Slattery was 16
th (2:05.06) and
John Blake was 17
th (2:05.13).

In the 3000m,
Ryan McGann placed fourth in 8:50.64 while
Adam Schwenzfeier was seventh (8:57.41).

Joe Hartnett placed third in the 3000m steeplechase (10:03.26) while
Tim Kazanjian was fourth in the 10,000m (33:19.02).

In the field events, besides winning the shot put, Ruiz was fourth in the discus with a season-best throw of 117' 11" and ninth in the hammer (117' 4"), just behind
Pat McGuire who took seventh (126' 10") in the hammer and the discus (108' 7").

In the javelin,
Nicholas Regan placed second with a season-best throw of 185' 11".

The Fordham outdoor track and field squads will next be in action on April 24-16 as they travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania.
