Luety, Daubman Take A-10 Weekly Awards

Daubman Named Co-Pitcher of the Week, Luety Named Co-Player of the Week

Atlantic 10 Release

Following a week that saw the Rams rattle off six wins, a pair of Fordham players has received weekly honors from the Atlantic 10.

Gabby Luety (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) and Michele Daubman (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) have been named the A-10 Co-Player of the Week and Co-Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played between April 7th and April 13th.

Daubman's accolade marks her fourth weekly award this season, while Luety's makes it two on the year for her.

Luety had a stellar week at the dish for the Rams, hitting .450, launching four home runs and driving in 11 runs over the course of six games.  After knocking a home run in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Rhode Island, Luety registered three home runs and eight RBI in Sunday's twin bill sweep of Binghamton.  The Cortland, N.Y., native's powerful performance moved her into a tie for second on the Fordham career home run list with 37.

Daubman went 2-0 on the week for Fordham, extending her scoreless inning streak to 18 with shutout victories over Army and Rhode Island.  Against the Black Knights on Thursday, Daubman hurled five innings of three-hit softball before going the distance against Rhode Island on Saturday.  The North Massapequa, N.Y., native tossed seven innings of four-hit ball against the Rams, helping Fordham take game one of a doubleheader.
