The Fordham outdoor track and field squad wrapped up competition at the 2014 Fred Hardy Invitational at the University of Richmond on Saturday, battling through a constant rain that hindered most of the East Coast.Â

The Rams were led by event wins in the men's high jump and men's 4x800 relay on day two. Â
David Fajoyomi won the men's high jump, as he cleared 6' 8", while the 4x800 relay team of
Lester Taylor,
Daniel Green,
Brian Walter, and
Sean Collins crossed the line first in a time of 7:56.76.

Taylor and Walter also added top ten finishes in the 800 meter run, as Taylor placed second in 1:55.24, with Walter taking sixth in 1:56.01.

Ryan McGann also ran for the Fordham men, placing sixth in the 3000 meter run in 8:55.28, while the men's 4x400 relay of
Devin Rocks,
Kyle Clonan,
Joe Hartnett, and
James Doran placed 17
th in 3:37.59.

On the women's side, Titi Fagade was the top finisher, finishing second in the 400m in an ECAC qualifying time of 55.99. Fagade also took fifth in the 200m in 25.51, just 0.12 seconds behind fourth-place finisher Demishia Davis of Temple.

Also competing for the women was Brianne Roche, who placed fourth in the 3000 meters in 10:25.10, Melissa Higgins, who was fifth in the 800m in 2:17.18, Shanna Heaney, who placed eighth in the 800m in 2:18.58, Averie Sheppard, who placed 13
th in the 100m hurdles in 15.85 and 35
th in the 200m in 27.08, Diane Bain, who placed 18
th in the 800m in 2:23.14, Christina Vivinetto, who was 21
st in the 800m in 2:23.64, Rachel Picard, who took 27
th in the 800m in 2:25.28, Kerry Sorenson, who finished 31
st in the 800m in 2:25.85, Kristen Stuart, who was 33
rd in the 200m in 27.03, and Elise Tigani, was who 42
nd in the 400m in 1:01.56.

The final women's event was the 4x400 relay, where Stuart, Sheppard, Fagade, and Bain placed fifth in 3:56.19.

The Fordham men's and women's track squads will next be in action on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, as they compete at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia.
