The Fordham men's track & field squad took center stage on Saturday, as the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational wrapped up competition.

After a third place finish in the distance medley relay on Friday, a number of Rams posted their best times of the season on Saturday. The group was led by
Jonathan Annelli, who qualified for the IC4A Championship in the mile run in a season-best time of 4:13.03, which was good for 62
nd overall.Â
Quincy O'Connor and
Brian Walter also posted their best times of the season in the mile, as the duo clocked in at 4:17.06 (92
nd) and 4:17.39 (96
th), respectively.

Other Rams in a very crowded mile field included
Kevin Harvey (160
th – 4:23.93),
Joe Hartnett (183
rd – 4:26.71),
Mike Turi (185
th – 4:26.89), and
Patrick Burke (200
th – 4:29.05).

In the 800 meter run,
Sean Collins was the top performer as he clocked a personal-best time of 1:56.17, which was 75
th overall.Â
Devin Rocks (132
nd – 1:59.82),
Peter Strom (146
th – 1:59.91), and
James Doran (181
st – 2:02.16) also competed in the event.

The 1,000 meter run saw
Ryan Polo as the Rams' top finisher, as he placed 23
rd in a time of 2:29.89, while
Lester Taylor finished 45
th overall in 2:32.72. Right behind them,
Kyle Clonan and
Daniel Green finished 53
rd (2:34.39) and 54
th (2:34.50), respectively, while
Michael Belgiovine was 61
st (2:36.39).

The final running event for Fordham on Saturday was the 4x400 relay, which saw Rocks, Collins, Strom, and Doran finish 48
th in 3:30.46.

In the field events,
Austin Ruiz placed 24
th in the shot put with a mark of 46' 2" and 40
th in the weight throw with a distance of 40' 4 ¼".

The Fordham track & field team will next be in action on February 22-23, as the Rams compete in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship, held at Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, Rhode Island.
