Fordham senior
Sam Houston (Windermere, Fla./Lake Highland) was selected as the Atlantic 10 Men's Indoor Track & Field Co-Performer of the Week it was announced on Monday by the league office. It is Houston's first career weekly award, and the second consecutive weekly honor for a Fordham Ram.
Houston had a fantastic performance at this weekend's Metropolitan Championship, as he won the heptathlon event with a total of 4,859 points, helping the Rams finish fourth overall in the team standings.
Houston finished first in four of the seven heptathlon events, winning the 1,000 meter run (2:48.19), the high jump (6' 4 ¾"), the long jump (22' 4 ¼"), and the shot put (38' 0").
Houston and the rest of the Rams are back in action on February 7-8 as Fordham competes at the Valentine's Day Classic, hosted by Boston University.
