Fordham's
Gabby Luety (Cortland, N.Y.) and
Michele Daubman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) were named the Atlantic 10 Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday.

Luety had a phenomenal first three games for Fordham this weekend. She went 5-for-6 at the dish with five walks, registering an .833 batting average and a .909 on base percentage. Luety also hit her first home run of the season and tallied three RBI, while scoring three runs.Â

Luety was 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks and two RBI in the season opener against LIU-Brooklyn, while scoring two runs on a hit and two walks against Chattanooga. She finished the weekend going 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI versus Central Florida.

Daubman did not allow an earned run over 13 innings of work this weekend, posting a 1-1 record in two starts.

She blanked LIU-Brooklyn on Friday before surrendering only two hits in a loss to Central Florida on Sunday. Against the Blackbirds, Daubman tossed a complete game, four-hit shutout with seven strikeouts. Later in the weekend against the Knights, she gave up two unearned runs on just two hits as the Rams fell 2-1.

The Fordham softball team will next be in action at the College of Charleston Classic, February 14-16. The Rams will play Ole Miss, Kansas, DePaul, Charleston, and Western Carolina in that tournament.
