ResultsThe Fordham swimming & diving teams wrapped up a busy opening week, featuring three meets in three days, on Saturday as the Rams hosted the University of Connecticut Huskies at the Messmore Aquatic Center.

UConn earned the sweep of the meet, as the Huskies downed the Fordham women, 165-135, and the Fordham men, 182.5-106.5.

Fordham would however post nine events wins with six in the women's competition and three in the men's.
Â
Sophomore
Megan Polaha led the Rams with three individual event wins, as she took first place in the 200 butterfly (2:01.72), the 100 butterfly (56.80), and the 200 individual medley (2:07.81). She almost added a fourth win, as a part of the 200 medley relay with
Morgan Fairclough,
Victoria McGovern, and
Chandler Lulley, but the Rams were touched out by .19 seconds (1:47.41), earning a second place finish.

Megan Zarriello and
Kelly Carroll also won individual events, as Zarriello captured the 1000 freestyle event in 10:33.93, while Carroll won the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.43.

The final women's event win was in the 400 freestyle relay, where
Shannon Lulley,
Kalena Laurent,
Erin McBride, and
Chandler Lulley won the race in 3:33.76.

On the men's side, junior
Steve Sholdra was the top performer, winning two events, while taking second place in another. He won the 1000 freestyle in 9:26.07, as well as the 200 butterfly in 1:50.75. Sholdra also took second in the 500 freestyle in 4:40.51.

Fordham's only other win came from
Liam Semple, who finished first in the 200 freestyle in 1:44.35.

th, when the Rams host Boston University at 1:00 PM
