Swimming & Diving Opens Competition at #A10SD Championship

Hampton, Virginia – (February 18, 2026) – The Fordham swimming & diving team began competition at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship on Wednesday, which is being held at the Hampton Aquaplex in Virginia.
 
MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP – DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Three men's events were held on Wednesday with Fordham totaling 79 points, good for fifth out of seven teams.
• First, it was the 200 medley relay, where Daniel Ribeiro, Max Maycher, Misha Semenov, and David Topi scored fourth with a season-best time of 1:27.60.
• Next were the finals of the one-meter diving competition, where both David Vargas and Marco Petit made the finals.Petit scored 16^th in the "B" final with a score of 182.65.Vargas followed by winning the event with a score of 341.55, becoming the first Ram to be Atlantic 10 champion in the men's one-meter dive event since Paul Delo in 1996.
• The night was capped with the 800 freestyle relay, where Quinn MacPhail, Kevin Yum, Frankie Sanger, and Jesse Abramson finished fifth in a season-best time of 6:40.38.

 
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP – DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Only two women's events were held on Wednesday with Fordham totaling 56 points, which is tied for fifth out of ten teams.
• First up was the 200 medley relay, where Fordham grabbed the bronze medal, as Ella Montgomery, Lexi Lundell, Karina Kanary, and Saskia Aikman posted a season-best time of 1:39.86.
• Then in the 800 freestyle relay, Hayley Clark, Kanary, Campbell Stever, and Daisy Mitchell scored seventh in a season-best time of 7:26.56.

 
WHAT'S NEXT

• Day two of the Championship is on tap for Thursday, February 19^th with the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, the women's three-meter dive, and the 200 freestyle relay.Preliminary races start at 10:00 AM with the finals at 6:00 PM.
