New Haven, Conn. (October 19, 2014) – The Fordham women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regionals this weekend at Yale University where Elliesa Ball and Sarah Ali won first round singles matches.
 
Ball opened play defeating Eva Sung of Army, 7-5, 7-6 (3), in the first round before falling to Syracuse's Amanda Rodgers in the second round, 6-4, 6-4.
 
Ali bested Sophia Dzulynsky from Quinnipiac I the first round, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, but then was upended by Brown's Dayna Lord in the second, 7-6 (1), 6-2.
 
In double action, Ball and Ali fell to Stony Brook's Adey Osabuohien and Elizabeth Tsvetkov, 8-6, while Estelle Wong and Julie Leong were bested by Drexel's Nicole Pivonka and Clary Rodriguez Cruz by the same score in first round matches.
 
The Rams will close out their fall season by hosting Seton Hall University on Saturday, October 25, on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at noon.
