May 20, 2013 - Bronx, N.Y. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2013 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team on Tuesday. Among those honored was Fordham graduate student Kevin Fitzgerald (New Orleans, La./Jesuit), who received his third A-10 Academic All-Conference Award.

Fitzgerald, who earned a degree in History in 2012 with a 3.71 GPA, has a perfect 4.00 GPA as a graduate student in the Graduate School of Education. He completed his college eligibility this spring with the men's outdoor track and field squad, capping the year by winning the 1,500m at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships on May 5 in Charlotte. He also scored in the 800m and the A-10 Championships, placing eighth and was a member of the 4x400 relay that placed sixth.

On the year, he qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 800m and 1500m, placing 20th in the 1500m at the championship on May 11. He also won the 800m at the 2013 Metropolitan Outdoor Championships in April.

Fitzgerald also received Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors for the 2011 and 2012 indoor seasons.
