Brookville, N.Y. - (Sept. 15, 2012) - The Fordham cross country teams had a very successful day at the Post Invitational in Brookville, New York. The men's team placed first out of 17 teams, while the women were third out of 20 teams.
On the men's side, Fordham totaled 65 points to finish in first, followed by LIU Post with 83 and Molloy with 98.
Patrick Burke led the Fordham men with a seventh place finish in 26:55.27, followed by Tim Kazanjian in ninth (27:06.31) and Ben Delikat in tenth (27:07.91). Devin Kelly was 16th overall in 27:36.41, followed by Conor O'Malley in 23rd (27:52.04) and James Doran in 27th (27:56.18).
In the women's race, St. John's won the team title with 72 points, with LIU Post in second (82) and Fordham in third (92).
Melissa Higgins was Fordham's top finisher, placing fifth in 19:42.28, while Christina Machado was sixth in 19:43.07. Amanda Foggia was next across the line in 18th (20:11.04), followed by Jillian Brooks in 30th (20:41.19), Shannon McKenna in 33rd (20:43.65), and Danielle Drummond in 42nd (21:00.53).
The Fordham cross country team will split up for its next competition on Saturday, September 22nd, as part of the team will head to the Leeber Invitational, hosted by Fairfield, while the rest will be at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College.
