Jacksonville, Fla. - (May 26, 2012) - Fighting through injuries and the long grind of the season, Fordham's Sean Collins, Blair Hassell, and David Fajoyomi made their way to Jacksonville, Florida, for the East Preliminary of the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship this weekend, hosted by the University of North Florida.
All three performers gutted out a grueling competition, which began with Collins in the men's 400 meter hurdles. He would finish sixth in his heat in 54.56 seconds, which would be good for 42nd overall.
In the women's javelin throw, Hassell improved with each of her throws, beginning at 113' 5". She bettered that with a distance of 122' 10" on her second attempt, and finished with mark of 127' 10" on her final throw to finish 40th overall.
Fajoyomi was the Rams' final competitor in the men's high jump. He cleared the opening two heights, finishing in a tie for 25th at 6' 9 1/2".
