Princeton, N.J. - (May 13, 2012) - The Fordham track & field team concluded its stay at the 2012 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championship on Sunday in Princeton, New Jersey with a bang, as after three consecutive runner-up finishes, the men's 4x800 relay won the IC4A event title.
The 4x800 relay, which had qualified third yesterday, outlasted Cornell for the top spot, which seemed fitting as Cornell had beaten Fordham at the 2012 Indoor Championship. Fordham's group of John Cosgrove, Daniel Green, Michael Rossi, and Kevin Fitzgerald won the event with a season-best time of 7:28.49, besting Cornell's time of 7:29.18.
With the win, the Fordham men's team tied for 27th overall at the championship with 10 points.
The Rams were unable to add to their totals, as neither Courtnay Newman nor David Fajoyomi cleared a height during the high jump competition.
