Track & Field Continues Competition on Day Two at the Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. - (April 27, 2012) - The 2012 Penn Relays continued at Franklin Field in Philadelphia on Friday with the Fordham track & field team competing in six events on day two.

Highlighting the day's events, sophomore Sean Collins continued his stellar performance in the 400 meter hurdles, as he placed tenth in the Championship division in a season-best time of 52.43 seconds.

Fordham also had a top 20 finish in the Eastern Division of the men's high jump, as David Fajoyomi tied for 17th, clearing 6' 5".

In the relays, Fordham competed in both the men's 4x100 and 4x400 relays, as well as the men's and women's sprint medley relay Championship.

In the men's 4x100 relay, Fordham's team of Collins, Sean Atkinson, Nick Delligatti, and David Fajoyomi placed 80th overall in a time of 44.38 seconds, while in the 4x400 relay, the Rams' group of Collins, Delligatti, Sam Houston, and Atkinson won their heat to take 31st overall in 3:17.85.

In the sprint medley relay Championship, Fordham took 25th overall in the women's event in 4:05.42, while the men's team was 26th overall in 3:35.21.

Day three of the Penn Relays will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
