Princeton, N.J. - (April 21, 2012) - The Fordham track & field team wrapped competition on Saturday at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University. Highlighting the day was the women's 4x400 relay, which once again broke the school record this season.
The group of Titi Fagade, Averie Sheppard, Elisabeth Warren, and Kelly Connolly broke the school record by over a second, as the team placed fourth in 3:46.38. The same group also took 12th in the 4x100 relay.
Fordham also had competitors in the women's 1500 meters, 400 meter hurdles and the high jump. Ashley Davis posted her career-best time of 4:44.41 in the 1,500 meters, placing 14th overall, while Courtnay Newman was 13th in the high jump, clearing 5' 5". Kristen Stuart placed 22nd in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:03.18, followed by Melissa Higgins in 26th in 1:04.11.
In the men's competition, Fordham competed in the men's 800 meters, 110 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, and the 4x400 relay.
Sean Collins tied for 10th in the 110 meter hurdles in 14.95 seconds, while Sean Atkinson was 10th in the 400 meter hurdles in 54.25 seconds. Both runners also joined Nick Delligatti and Sam Houston in the 4x400 relay, placing sixth in a season-best time of 3:15.20.
The Rams' final entry was Daniel Green, who was 33rd in the 800 meters in 1:55.34.
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action, April 26-28, as the Rams compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
