Four Rams Named Atlantic 10 All-Academic for Indoor Track & Field

Zoe Arakelian, Leia Ruvo, John Corrigan, & Sam Freeman Earn Academic Accolade

Washington, D.C. – (March 17, 2026) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its Academic All-Conference teams for indoor track & field on Tuesday with four Rams earning a spot on the team.  This is the second straight year that Fordham has four honorees.
 
Among those honored were seniors Zoe Arakelian (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Leia Ruvo (Frankford, N.J.) from the women's team and juniors John Corrigan (Bay Village, Ohio) and Sam Freeman (Santa Cruz, Calif.) from the men's team.
 
A Marketing major with a 3.92 GPA and a three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Arakelian was the Atlantic 10 co-champion and gold medalist at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship in the high jump, clearing a career-best 5' 8".  She joined Fordham Athletics Hall of Famer Kerstin Greene (2005) as the only Rams to take gold in the high jump at the indoor championship.
 
Ruvo, a Biological Sciences major with a 3.87 GPA and a three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, also found the medal podium at the Atlantic 10 Championship, taking silver and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the pentathlon, scoring a career-best 3,602 points.  She was Fordham's second-ever medalist in the pentathlon, joining Jeana Fletcher in 2009.  Additionally, she tied for fifth in the high jump at the championship, tying for fifth.
 
A Finance major with a concentration in Information Systems and a 3.97 GPA, Corrigan is a two-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned his first career medal at the Atlantic 10 Championship in the 1,000 meters, taking bronze in a career-best time of 2:25.32.  He was the eighth Ram ever to medal in the men's 1,000 meters.  He also helped the 4x800 relay score fourth at the championship with a time of 7:39.32. 
 
Freeman, a Mathematics major and two-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.78 GPA, was a two-time medalist at this year's Atlantic 10 Championship and scored in a third event.  He was the silver medalist and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in the 400 meters with a school record time of 47.48 seconds, while taking bronze in the 200-meter dash at 21.62 seconds.  He also scored seventh as a part of the 4x400 relay in 3:19.97.
