Women's Basketball Takes on Saint Louis Wednesday

The Rams take on the Billikens at 12:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN+

Saint Louis, Mo.  – Set for a mid-morning showdown in Saint Louis Wednesday, Fordham University women's basketball heads out to the midwest for a meeting with the Billkens at 12:00 p.m. EST/11:00 a.m. CST.

Fordham (9-15, 1-12) will look to turn things around with five games left in the regular season including the trip to Saint Louis, after falling on the road at La Salle 70-53 Saturday for their sixth straight loss. Saint Louis looks to advance its playoff seeding late in the year, with just two wins separating seeds 6-12 in the standings. The Billikens have lost five straight, with their last win coming on Jan. 21 against the Rams.

When they met earlier this year at the Rose Hill Gym, Saint Louis claimed a 67-57 overtime victory against the Rams back on Jan. 21, which was also a Kids Day Out game. All-time, Saint Louis leads the series 14-12, winning the last two meetings to pull ahead.

Notes

Wednesday will mark the third time in the last four midweek games that the Rams have taken part in a Kids Day Out event, tipping off much earlier than normal for a Wednesday clash. Hosting their own event at the Rose Hill Gym against Saint Louis on Jan. 21, the Maroon and White also took part in away meetings at VCU on Jan. 28 and this week against the Billikens.

The Maroon and White sit 12th among all Division I teams in the nation, leading the A-10 averaging 16.0 offensive rebounds per game and are 85th nationally in overall rebounds at 39.08, third best in the conference.

The Rams are second in the league and 57th best of any team in the nation, averaging 23.4 bench points per game.

Fordham also sits 86th in the country in steals per game at 9.7/game, the second best average in the league as well, and rank 73rd in the country in turnovers forced per game, forcing opponents into 19.17/game, second in the A-10.

Scoring in double figures in each of her first 13 games as a Ram, and 15 of 17 games this season, Alexis Black has paced the Rams offense and sits 60th in the nation and third in the A-10 averaging 17.7 points per game. She also ranks 25th in the country with an 88.0% free throw percentage on the year.
