The A-10's coaches predicted that Dayton, who has won the past two A-10 titles, will repeat as conference champion followed by George Mason, Saint Louis, and Fordham.  Duquesne placed one spot behind Fordham in fifth while Loyola Chicago was picked to finish sixth.  Davidson, Rhode Island, and La Salle, respectively, rounded out the poll's top 10 followed by St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's and George Washington.

The preseason poll marks the ninth time in the last ten years that Fordham has been picked to finish fifth or better in the league standings.  The Rams are coming off a 2024 campaign that saw the team receive its sixth NCAA Tournament bid. The Rams received their bid after compiling an 8-5-5 record against the seventh toughest schedule in the country. Fordham, which finished 29th in the RPI, tallied a pair of results against teams in the top six of the RPI, defeating Dayton (6) and playing Hofstra (5) to a scoreless draw, both on the road. The Rams also played Penn (7), Princeton (17) and UMass (23) during the regular season.
