Fairfax, Va. – (May 17, 2025) – The Fordham track & field team started competition at the 2025 ECAC/IC4A Championship, hosted at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday.
Through day one, Fordham scored four points for the men and three for the women.
The Rams scored in the women's high jump and men's 800 meters. In the high jump,
Zoe Arakelian cleared 5' 4 ½", tying for fifth place to net points for the women. On the men's side,
Ben Borchers scored fifth overall in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 1:51.44.
Darren Croke also ran the 800 meters, placing 21
st in 1:54.77.
Aside from the scoring events, the Rams posted times and marks in seven events.
On the women's side, the 800-meter run had three Rams in the event, led by
Brenna Sears in 14
th overall, clocking in at 2:15.33.
Megan McCann finished 17
th in 2:16.16 with
Lauren Raimy in 22
nd at 2:18.34. Additionally, the women's 100-meter hurdles saw
Kylie Ritz take 11
th overall in 14.84 seconds.
For the men, the Rams had four runners in the 400-meter dash, led by
Sam Freeman in tenth place at 48.66.
Nelson Lindsay was 18
th in 49.16 seconds, followed by
Matthew Nurse in 26
th (49.56) and
Kevin Callaghan in 31
st (50.12).
Then in the 100-meter dash,
Liam Volz took 20
th overall in 11.02 seconds with
Sean Reidy taking 14
th in the 1,500-meter run in 3:57.81. The 5,000-meter run saw
Tadael Mihret and
Bradford Duchesne place 11
th and 12
th, respectively, in 15:08.73 and 15:16.71.
Lastly, in the javelin throw,
James Alati ended up 19
th with a distance of 163' 4" with
George Pomer in 20
th at 158' 5".
The Rams wrap up competition at the ECAC/IC4A Championship on Sunday, taking part in the 200 meters, the women's 4x800 relay, and the men's 4x400 relay.
