Track & Field Posts Best Finish at 2025 ECAC/IC4A Championship

Men & Women Both Take Sixth at Championship & Collect Seven Podium Finishes

Boston, Mass. – (March 9, 2025) – The Fordham track & field team completed their stay at the 2025 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday in Boston with a program-best performance.
 
The Fordham men placed sixth in the IC4A Championship with 42 points, while the women were sixth in the ECAC Championship at 43 points.  It is Fordham's highest-ever finish as well as the team's highest point total at the Championship.
 
The Rams hit the podium seven times on Sunday, which included three gold medal performances.  First in the men's mile run, Rodolfo Sanchez won the event in a time of 4:09.97, with Nathan Bezuneh scoring fifth in the event at 4:11.28.  In the women's mile, Katarina Birimac earned the silver medal by finishing second in a time of 4:46.75.
 
Next was the 400-meter finals, where Sam Freeman won the men's event in 47.77 seconds with Kevin Callaghan scoring eighth at 49.05 seconds.  Yariv Simhony also found the scoring column for Fordham in the 500 meters, placing eighth in 1:06.18.
 
In the 200-meter dash, Njam Abdul-Latif capped an incredible indoor season by winning the event in a school record time of 21.00 seconds.
 
Additionally, the Rams scored in the women's 60-meters hurdles, 1,000 meters, and triple jump.  Kylie Ritz and Nicole Lytle were sixth (9.01) and seventh (9.14) respectively in the hurdles, with Megan McCann taking eighth in the 1,000 meters (2:57.39) and Alexandra Manetovic in fifth with a triple jump distance of 37' 4 ½".  The last individual event on Sunday was the women's 3,000 meters where Sarah Zahaykevich placed tenth in 9:54.33.
 
In the relays, the men's 4x800 relay of John Corrigan, Aidan Hickey, Bezuneh, and Darren Croke took bronze in 7:36.83, while the women's relay of Kathleen Keefe, Brenna Sears, Cate Roche, and McCann grabbed silver in 9:17.79. The final relay was the women's 4x400, where Dillyn Green, Michele Daye, Ritz, and Alexandra Wiliams were the bronze medalists in a time of 3:47.72.
 
The Rams will now prepare for their outdoor track opener in Richmond, Virginia, at the Fred Hardy Invitational on March 21st.
