Hampton, Va. – (February 22, 2025) – The 2025 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship has come to a close at the Hampton Aquaplex in Virginia.
The Fordham men maintained their seventh place standing out of eight teams with 250 points.
The night of finals started off with the 1650 freestyle, as the Rams just missed scoring in the event with
John Koebel in 17
th place at 16:06.48 and
Aiden Dane in 18
th at 16:10.00.
Next up was the 200 backstroke, where once again Fordham was denied points, as
Brian Desmond finished 17
th overall in 1:49.81.
Fordham did get in the scoring column in the 100 freestyle event with three Rams making the finals.
Christian Taylor made the championship final, scoring fifth in a season-best time of 44.11 seconds, while
Vitalis Onu and
Taz Kanjanakaset finished 15
th and 16
th, respectively in 45.05 and 45.11 seconds.
The Rams duplicated their scoring efforts in the 200 breaststroke with three Fordham swimmers in the finals.
Daniel Langlois qualified for the championship final, placing eighth in 2:00.87, while
Noah Althoff (2:02.03) and
Ryan Hong (2:03.78) were 13
th and 16
th, respectively.
In the 200 butterfly,
Ryan Davidoff and
Dylan Champagne gave it their best effort, but fell short of scoring, taking 17
th (1:51.15) and 20
th (1:51.74), respectively.
The last individual event was the three-meter dive, where
Marco Petit scored 189.70 points.
In the final event of the championship, the Rams' 400 freestyle relay team of Taylor, Kanjanakaset, Onu, and Althoff scored fourth in a time of 2:57.26.
