Men’s Swimming & Diving Sits Sixth at #A10SD Championship

David Vargas Wins Atlantic 10 Title in the Three-Meter Dive for Second Gold Medal

Hampton, Virginia – (February 20, 2026) – The Fordham men's swimming & diving team sits in sixth place after day three of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship, which is being held at the Hampton Aquaplex in Virginia.
 
FORDHAM – DAY 3 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Seven men's events were held on Friday with the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, three-meter dive, and the 400 medley relay.
  • The opening final of the night was the 100 butterfly, where Daniel Ribeiro scored 12th as a part of the "B" final in 48.32 seconds.
  • In the 400 individual medley, Quinn MacPhail scored fifth in the championship final with a season-best time of 3:54.35.
  • Fordham did not score in the 200 freestyle, as Jesse Abramson was the top finisher at 1:41.17, good for 21st overall.
  • Three Rams made the finals of the 100 breaststroke event, starting with Radek Cohen scoring 15th in the "B" final at 55.63 seconds.  Then in the championship final, David Topi scored fifth in a season-best time of 54.51 seconds, while Max Maycher was seventh in 54.63 seconds.
  • Fordham's tandem of Frankie Sanger (49.61) and Misha Semenov (49.11) then scored as a part of the "B" final of the 100 backstroke, placing 14th and 16th, respectively.
  • Then came the finals of the three-meter dive, where both Marco Petit and David Vargas found the scoring column.  With a final scoring total of 354.15, Vargas won the event to take gold in both diving events, joining Paul Delo (1996) as the only Rams to win both diving events at an Atlantic 10 Championship.  Petit also scored 14th (194.95) as a part of the "B" final.
  • The final event of the night was the 400 medley relay, where the team of Sanger, Topi, Bryce Wilkens, and Abramson scored seventh in 3:19.49.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The final day of the Championship is set for Saturday, February 21st with the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, the women's one-meter dive, and the 400 freestyle relay.Preliminary races start at 10:00 AM with the finals at 6:00 PM.
