Hampton, Va. – (February 21, 2025) – The third day of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship has wrapped up at the Hampton Aquaplex in Virginia.
Through day three, the Fordham men stayed seventh place out of eight teams with 187 points.
Fordham scored in five of the six events on Friday, starting in the 100 butterfly, where
Daniel Ribeiro tied for 11
th in 48.46 seconds.
Then in the 400 individual medley,
John Koebel made the "B" final, scoring 15
th overall in 4:05.84.
The next scoring event for the Rams was the 100 breaststroke, where three Fordham swimmers made the "B" final.
Java Marvarov scored 10
th overall with a season-best time of 54.97 seconds, followed by
David Topi in 11
th at 54.98 seconds and
Daniel Langlois in 15
th in 55.75 seconds.
Christian Taylor and
Brian Desmond then made the finals of the 100 backstroke event. Desmond made the "B" final, scoring 15
th in 49.16 seconds. Taylor, who broke the school record in the preliminaries, did so again in the championship final, finishing third with a bronze medal and record time of 47.24 seconds.
The final event of the day was the 400 medley relay, where the Rams' team of Taylor, Marvarov, Ribeiro, and
Vitalis Onu placed sixth in a season-best time of 3:14.44.
The final day of competition for the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship starts at 10:00 AM on Saturday with preliminary heats, followed by finals at about 6:00 PM.
