Swimming & Diving Competes in Tri-Meet with NYU & TCNJ

New York, N.Y. – (December 6, 2025) – The Fordham swimming & diving team had its final competition of the semester on Saturday with a tri-meet against The College of New Jersey and NYU at NYU's Palladium Athletic Facility.
 
WOMEN'S MEET

• Fordham fell to NYU by a 197-103 as the lone dual meet score as TCNJ pulled out of the women's meet
• The Rams' Katie Laverty put together a stellar day, winning both diving events, while also setting a new school record in the one-meter dive.She scored a school record 318.05 on the one-meter board, breaking the mark of 317.25 by Millie Haffety in 2022, while netting a winning score of 302.90 on the three-meter board.
• Karina Kanary won the 200 individual medley event in a time of 2:08.00, while taking second in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.37) and third in the 200 butterfly (2:05.82).She was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay with Ella Montgomery, Lexi Lundell, and Saskia Aikman in 1:44.41.
• Aikman earned a second place finish in the 50 freestyle (23.89), while being third in the 100 freestyle (51.95) with Montgomery coming in third in the 100 backstroke (58.39) and 100 butterfly (57.72) events.
• Campbell Stever was second in the 1000 freestyle at 10:34.25 and fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:17.31).
• Other top performers included Daisy Mitchell in the 200 freestyle (3^rd – 1:56.23), Lundell in the 100 breaststroke (3^rd – 1:06.54), and Tera Brilmyer in the 200 backstroke (5^th – 2:13.06).
• The final event saw the 200 freestyle relay team of Lundell, Aikman, Montgomery, and Magdalena Wlodarkiewicz take third in 1:37.57.

 
MEN'S MEET

• The Rams defeated TCNJ by a score of 155-139, while falling to NYU, 194-104.
• Quinn MacPhail and David Vargas both won multiple events on Saturday.MacPhail took first in the 1000 freestyle in 9:24.80 and the 500 freestyle in 4:37.93, while Vargas swept the diving events with score of 318.30 (1M) and 402.35 (3M).
• Max Maycher won the 50 freestyle in a time of 20.96 seconds, while grabbing second in the 100 butterfly (51.14).He was also a part of the top Fordham relays in the 200 medley relay (2^nd – 1:31.05) and the 200 freestyle relay (2^nd – 1:23.22).
• Daniel Ribeiro had a pair of second place finishes in the 100 backstroke (50.65) and the 100 freestyle (46.28).
• David Topi was the best performer in the 100 breaststroke in third place at 57.11, while Ben Ohrr was fourth in the 200 backstroke (1:54.10).
• Other top performers included Bryce Wilkens in the 200 freestyle (7^th – 1:44.55), Kevin Yum in the 200 butterfly (5^th – 1:56.45), and Juan Abella in the 200 breaststroke (8^th – 2:14.87) and 200 individual medley (8^th – 2:00.35).

• Fordham is now off for Winter Break until January 13^th, when they travel to Rider for a 6:00 PM meet.
