BRONX – Members of the Fordham volleyball, rowing, and track and field programs met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin is the Secretary of State of the Vatican, today in front of the Rose Hill Gym prior to Cardinal Parolin officiating at the 11:00 a.m. mass at the University Church.
 
Cardinal  Parolin serves as a right hand to Pope Francis, helping the Pope in the church's constant work of improvement. He has been crucial in Laudato Si', the pope's fight against climate change. 
 
Erynn Sweeney, Lauryn Sweeney, and Bridget Woodruff from the volleyball team were joined by Catherine Schmitt-Palumbo (Rowing), and Lucas Rohde (Men's Track and Field) welcomed the Cardinal Parolin as he toured campus, stopping to engage with the student-athletes.
 
Additionally, Irene Murua Txintxurreta and Precious Omoshola from the women's basketball program welcomed the Cardinal as arrived on campus and joined him for breakfast in the President's office prior to the tour.
