Princeton, N.J. – (March 30, 2024) – Saturday was a split day of competition for the Fordham track & field team, competing at the Ramapo Invitational in Mahwah, N.J. and the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton University.
At Princeton, the day began with the field events, where 
Eric Galante, 
George Pomer, and 
DaRon Elam were all in action.  Galante had the best finish, taking third in the long jump at 22' 10 ½", while Elam was fifth in the high jump (6' 2 ¾") and Pomer being tenth in the javelin throw (148' 9").  Pomer also competed on the track, as he was 20th in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.58 seconds.
Next up was the men's 400 meters, where 
Matthew Nurse and 
Sam Freeman each finished in the top ten taking with Nurse in eighth (49.29) and Freeman in tenth (49.51).  Additionally, 
Safo Kirton was 19th in the event (50.42) with 
Dakota Strain in 21st.  The same group also took part in the 200-meter dash with Nurse in 14th (22.14), Strain in 18th (22.43), Freeman in 21st (22.54), and Kirton in 29th (23.29).
On the women's side, the Rams had runners in the 400-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash.  In the hurdles, 
Kylie Ritz took tenth overall in 1:06.69 with 
Nicole Lytle in 12th (1:07.85) and 
Sophia Crucs in 15th (1:09.19).  Then in the 200 meters, it was 
Michele Daye leading the way in 13th at 25.47, followed by 
Skylar Harris (18th – 25.68), 
Alexandra Williams (23rd – 26.19), and 
Caroline Fallona (36th – 27.22). Harris and Fallona also ran in the 100-meter dash with 
Dillyn Green.  Harris grabbed third overall in 12.27 seconds with Green in seventh (12.41) and Fallona in 17th (12.73).
The string of women's events continued with the 4x400 relay, as Fordham's team of Williams, Daye, Green, and Ritz claimed fourth in 4:03.65, while 
Meredith Gotzman was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:53.04.
The Rams were then in both editions of the unseeded 800 meters, 1,500 meters, and seeded 5,000 meters.  For the 800 meters, the men had four runners in the top 15, starting with 
Trevor Rinn in third place at 1:56.02, followed by 
Darren Croke in fourth (1:56.49), 
Yariv Simhony in tenth (1:58.04), and 
Erik Brown in 14th (1:59.08).  
Brenna Sears was the top women's runner in eighth place at 2:15.82 with 
Megan McCann in 12th (2:17.40) and 
Kate Meeks in 25th (2:24.14).
The 1,500 meters saw 
Mary Kathryn Underwood as the top finisher for the women in 27th at 4:49.54 with 
Alexandra Thomas in 37th (5:02.33).  
Sean Reidy was the lone finisher for the men in 22nd place at 3:57.74.
In the seeded 5,000 meters for the men, Fordham had a trio runners in the top 12 finishers led by 
Colin Flood in sixth place at 14:24.49 followed by 
Steven Zucca in eighth (14:26.63) and 
Rodolfo Sanchez in 12th (14:29.39).  
Madeleine Ryan was the lone female competitor, grabbing 16th overall in 17:57.72.
The day's event concluded with the men's 10,000 meters, where 
Jack Boerger (31:56.98) and 
Matthew McCabe (32:00.73) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Rams' next meet will be the Metropolitan Championship on April 6th at Icahn Stadium.
