Washington, D.C. – (May 15, 2025) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic and All-Rookie teams on Thursday. Three of those honored were Fordham Rams, as
Njam Abdul-Latif was named to the All-Rookie Team, while
Rodolfo Sanchez and
Katarina Birimac earned All-Academic honors.
The All-Academic team honored student-athletes for their contributions in athletics and academics. Eligible student-athletes were at least a sophomore and maintained a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 and was voted upon by the league's communication directors.
The All-Rookie team was composed of student-athletes who competed in their first season of outdoor track and field, and who registered the top mark in each category from the start of the season through the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship. The top marks in each outdoor track and field category were based on results from the Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).
Abdul-Latif earned All-Rookie Team status in both the 100- and 200-meter dash events, as he set the school record in 100 meters at 10.47 seconds. He was the Atlantic 10 champion in the 200-meter dash, while being the silver medalist in the 100 meters. He was awarded the Atlantic 10 Championship Most Outstanding Track Performer and Rookie Performer Award, becoming only the second runner to accomplish that feat in Atlantic 10 history. During the season, Abdul-Latif received the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Award once.
A Finance major, Sanchez made the outdoor track & field Academic All-Conference team for the second consecutive year. The three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll had an incredible outdoor season, taking the silver medal and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the 1,500 meters at the Atlantic 10 Championship in 3:49.55. In addition, he set a new program record in the 1,500 meters at the Sam Howell Invitational at 3:44.99. He was also a part of the Rams' 4x800 relay that grabbed bronze at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Birimac, a graduate student studying Medieval Studies, won the 10,000-meter run at the Atlantic 10 Championship in 34:48.93, becoming only the second Ram to win the 10,000-meter event. Additionally, she was third in the 10,000-meters at the Penn Relays with a season-best time of 33:48.47, while being the Metropolitan champion in the 1,5000-meter run (4:37.82).
