Philadelphia, Pa. – (February 17, 2024) – The Fordham squash team started action at the 2024 CSA Team Championship on Saturday, competing in Group A of the Conroy Cup.
In the team's opening match, the Rams fell to Vassar by a 6-3 count.
Fordham earned points at the third, fourth, and eighth slots.
Henry Frawley defeated Konstan Georgallides in three games at the third slot, 11-5, 11-3, and 11-6, followed by
Jack Stanley taking down Luke Chen in three games at fourth position, 11-7, 11-7, and 11-8.
Sofia Arseniev earned the final point in comeback fashion at the eighth slot, defeating Kyle Benson in five games, 4-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, and 11-6.
The Rams were able to take two other matches to four games against Vassar but were unable to come out on top.
Peter Vorbach fell at fifth position to Jarid Haslinger, 11-13, 11-3, 11-5, and 11-7, while
Robert Cruikshank lost to Razaan Lalji at sixth position, 11-7, 4-11, 11-6, and 16-14.
In match two on Saturday, the Rams succum to Wesleyan, 9-0.
All nine matches were three-game sweeps in favor of Wesleyan.
The loss puts Fordham into the fifth place match of the Conroy Cup on Sunday against Bard at 9:00 AM.
