Bronx, N.Y. – (September 8, 2023) – The Fordham cross country teams play host to the annual Fordham Fiasco Cross Country meet on Saturday at the classic Van Cortlandt Park cross country course in the Bronx.

The meet will consist of a five-mile race for the men at 10:00 AM, followed by the 5K race for the women at 10:45 AM.  Live results for the meet can be found on EliteFeats.com.

The Fordham Fiasco is in its fifth decade of being held, dating back to its initial running in 1982.  Plenty of teams have earned the team title on the men's side, led by Navy's six crowns (1993, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2013, and 2014).  Other teams to put their name on the title at least once have been Fordham, Duke, Penn, Princeton, SMU, Brown, UAlbany, Providence, Sacred Heart, Yale, Rutgers, Saint Joseph's, Manhattan, and Lipscomb.  Fordham last won the team title in 2015.

Individually, only two male runners have won the Fordham Fiasco twice – Duke's Sean Kelly (2000 & 2001) and Navy's Stephen Schroeder (2013 & 2014).  The last Fordham runner to win the race was Brian Cook in 2016.

On the women's side, Duke holds the most team titles with four, while Fordham, Princeton, Penn, and Cornell each have three.  Fordham's most recent team title was in 2021.

Individually, there has never been a repeat champion on the women's side.  The last Fordham runner to win the race was Kerri Gallagher in 2010.
