Montgomery, N.Y. – (September 16, 2023) – The Fordham cross country team made its way to Twin Ponds on the Farm on Saturday morning to take part in the Jasper Fall XC Invitational, hosted by Manhattan College.
The Rams had a solid showing, beginning with the women's 6K race, as Fordham placed seventh out of 19 teams. Quinnipiac won the team title with 31 points, followed by NYU (56), Rider (105), Siena (106), Canisius (108), Manhattan (171) and Fordham (199).
Quinnipiac had three of the top four finishers, led by Liv DiStefano, who won the race in a time of 20:56.6.
Fordham's top performer on Saturday was
Meredith Gotzman, this past week's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. She placed 27
th overall in a time of 22:29.4, followed by
Caitrina Barton in 32
nd (22:39.8) and
Madeleine Ryan in 50
th (23:09.3).
Marin Bogulski was the next Ram across the line in 53
rd (23:17.2) with
Kate Meeks in 58
th (23:31.4),
Maddy Kopec in 62
nd (23:46.1), and
Sarah Zahaykevich in 66
th (23:59.4). Additional runners for Fordham included

In the men's five-mile (8K) race, Fordham was sixth out of 20 scoring teams. It was Rider taking the team title with 43 points, followed by Canisius (65), Siena (68), NYU (84), Marist (149), and Fordham (167) to round out the top six squads.
Tom Appenheimer of Canisius was the individual winner, clocking in at 24:33.6 over the five-mile course.
For Fordham,
Sean Reidy, who was the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, paced the Rams in 21
st place in a time of 25:45.6, followed by
Matthew McCabe in 37
th (26:19.0) and
Jack Boerger in 42
nd (26:24.3).
Darren Croke was the next Ram across the line in 45
th place at 26:27.4 with
John Corrigan in 47
th (26:31.0),
Ben Borchers in 55

Jake Frayler in 125
th (29:16.1).
Fordham will next be on the course on September 30
th at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University.
