Newport News, Va. – (September 13, 2023) – The Atlantic 10 Conference released the league's weekly cross country awards on Wednesday afternoon, as Fordham freshmen
Sean Reidy (White Plains, N.Y.) and
Meredith Gotzman (Olney, Md.) were named the Atlantic 10's Men's and Women's Rookies of the Week, respectively. It is the first weekly award for both Reidy and Gotzman.
Working through hot and humid conditions at Van Cortlandt Park this past Saturday, Reidy notched a second-place finish at the Fordham Fiasco. He clocked in at 27:59.80 over the five-mile course, as Fordham won the team title for the first time since 2015.
Gotzman ended up third overall in the women's race, where Fordham was second in the team standings. She posted a time of 20:09.70 over the 5K course in her first collegiate race.
Reidy, Gotzman, and the rest of the Fordham cross country team will next be in action on Saturday, September 16
th at the Jasper XC Invite, held at Twins Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y.
