Tryout Approval Form & Assumption of Risk Packet (PDF)

BRONX, N.Y. – Fordham University Softball has announced its 2023 walk-on tryout date for prospective student-athletes looking to join the program. Walk-on tryouts will be held at Bahoshy Field on Friday, Sept. 8, time to be determined based on number of inquiries and class schedules.

Interested student-athletes must be enrolled full-time at Fordham University in order to try out and must provide a copy of a physical completed by a licensed medical practitioner from the last six months. In addition, signed copies of both the Tryout Approval/Assumption of Risk AND HIPPA release forms must be completed and turned in PRIOR to tryouts, and students must either test or show proof of a prior test for Sickle Cell Trait.

For assistance completing these forms, Doctor Urgent Medical Care and CityMD are located just a few blocks away from the Rose Hill campus, as well as the Campus Health Center which can provide additional resources for students. Please note that a fee may apply.

Per NCAA rules, students are not permitted to miss class to attend walk-on tryouts. Interested students are asked to email Associate Head Coach, Jen Lapicki at jlapicki@fordham.edu and are asked to provide a copy of their fall class schedule.
