St. Louis, Mo. – On Wednesday it seemed that Fordham sophomore
Victoria Klimaszewski ate her Wheaties before the game as she led the Rams to a win on opening day at the 2026 Betterment Atlantic 10 Championship. Tomorrow the entire Fordham softball team can have a bowl of the "Breakfast of Champions" as the Rams defeated Loyola University Chicago, 7-4, to claim their tenth Atlantic 10 softball title.
Â
With the win, Fordham improves to 27-26 on the season and will await their NCAA Championship regional assignment on Sunday night.
Â
Klimaszewski, who was named the championship's Most Outstanding Player, had a hand in today's win, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI while freshman
Sadira Forcucci also connected on a home run and drove in a pair. Sophomore pitcher
Elizabeth Gaisior came on in the bottom of the seventh and recorded the final three outs, the last on a pop up with the bases loaded.
