St. Louis, Mo. – "Bee Happy, Bee Healthy." It's the slogan for Honey Nut Cheerios. But it can also apply to today's softball matchup between Fordham and Dayton as Fordham's
Holly Beeman is starting to "bee- healthy," throwing a complete game, three-hitter, to lead the Rams to a 4-1 win over the Flyers at the 2026 Betterment Atlantic 10 Softball Championship at the Billiken Sports Complex.
Â
With the win, Fordham evens its record at 26-26 on the season and moves on to play on championship Saturday against an opponent to be determined at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) at the Billiken Sports Complex.
Â
Beeman struck out two and allowed just the one run to record her sixth win of the year. Offensively, freshman
Sadira Forcucci had the big hit, a two-run single in the seventh that gave the Rams two big insurance runs.
Â
How It Happened
- For the third straight game the Rams jumped out to a first inning lead.
- With one out, Mikayla Swan walked and Nicki Sudall was hit by pitch.
- Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch before Eva Koratsis singled to shortstop to plate Swan.
- The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth when the Flyers used a solo home run to knot the game at one.
- Fordham responded with three in the top of the seven to take the 4-1 lead.
- With one out, Morgan Volgraf, Victoria Klimaszewski, and Neleh Nogay walked to load the bases and, one out later, Sudall was hit by a pitch to give the Rams a 2-1 lead.
- Forcucci followed with a single to right center to deliver Klimaszewski and Nogay to make it a 4-1 game.
- Beeman allowed a leadoff single in the bottom of the frame but got the next Dayton hitter to ground into a 4-6-3 double play before inducing the final better to ground out to short to end the game.
