SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 16
th all-time meeting between Fordham and Stony Brook with the Rams holding an 8-6-1 edge in the series. The Seawolves got the better of the Rams in last season's opener, scoring in the final second for a 2-1 victory.
For Fordham and Fairfield, the two Jesuit institutions have not met since the 2012 season. This is the seventh all-time meeting with the Stags holding a 5-1 series lead in six previous meetings.
LAST TIME OUT: Much like their last contest, the Fordham women's soccer team saw more firsts on Thursday in their match against the Stonehill Skyhawks.
Kaitlyn Murphy and
Lena Johnsen each netted their first career goal, while
Kyla King recorded her second straight shutout, as the Rams topped the Skyhawks, 2-0, at Jack Coffey Field.
Fordham opened the scoring in the 28
th minute, as
Kaitlyn Murphy stole the ball near the top of the Stonehill box and fired home a shot to the top of the net for her first career goal.
Lena Johnsen
Out of halftime, Fordham goalkeeper
Kyla King kept the game at 1-0 making a tip save over the crossbar on a shot by Emma Slade in the 53

Then, the Rams doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 59
th minute, as

Those two goals were enough, as the Rams out shot the Skyhawks, 33-5, which was the most shots for Fordham since moving their games to Jack Coffey Field from Edwards Parade. The previous high for the Rams was 27, which most recently done against St. Francis Brooklyn on September 9
th, 2021.

th saw plenty of firsts other than the match being the first win of the year. The win for the Rams was their first home opening win since 2016, while the four-goal performance had not happened since September 2018 against Davidson. Freshmen
Riley Carroll (goal & assist) and
Sari Frankl (two assists), as well as graduate student
Cianna Elmazaj (goal), each found the scoresheet for the first time as a Ram, while
Caroline Monahan recorded her first multi-goal game as a Ram. It was the first two-goal game by a Fordham player since
Kristen Cocozza had two against Rhode Island in the 2020-21 spring season.
Fordham had more firsts in their most recent win over Stonehill, as
Kaitlyn Murphy and Lena Johnson each recorded their first collegiate goal in a 2-0 victory.
