CSC Academic All-District Listing for Women
Bronx, N.Y. – (May 31, 2023) - The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom.
A total of eight Rams, four men and four women, were named Academic All-District® including graduate students
Helen Connolly,
Kathryn Kelly and
Jana Rokitta, seniors
Kyla Hill,
Nolan Chiles, and
Erik Brown, junior
Steven Zucca, and sophomore
Rodolfo Sanchez.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA for their undergraduate work, while for graduate students, a student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA for both undergraduate and graduate school work.
The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes men's and women's cross country/track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in late March.

Here is a breakdown of each of Fordham's Academic All-District ® selections:
Erik Brown
Sr. – Computer Science/American Studies
· Placed ninth in the 500 meters & seventh in the 4x400 relay at the 2023 A-10 Indoor Championship
· Helped the 4x400 relay score fifth at the 2023 A-10 Outdoor Championship
· 2022 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection (indoor track)
· Three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll |
Helen Connolly
Gr. – Biological Sciences / Cell & Molecular Biology (graduate)
· 2023 A-10 Postgraduate Scholarship recipient
· Placed eighth in the 1,500 meters & ninth in the 800 meters at the 2023 A-10 Outdoor Championship
· Runner-up in the 1,500 meters & 4x400 relay at the 2023 Metropolitan Outdoor Championship
· Bronze medalist in the 4x800 relay at the 2023 ECAC Indoor Championship
· Scored seventh in the 800 meters & 4x400 relay at the 2023 A-10 Indoor Championship
· 2023 Metropolitan Indoor champion in the 4x800 relay, while being third in the 1,000 meters
· Four-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll

Nolan Chiles
Sr. – Integrative Neuroscience
· Was 13th in the mile run at the 2023 A-10 Indoor Championship
· Placed 10th in the indoor mile and outdoor 1,500 meters at the Metropolitan Championship
· Class of 2023 Fordham University valedictorian
· Three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll |
Kathryn Kelly
Gr. – Psychology / Applied Psychological Methods (graduate)
· Member of the school record 4x100 relay
· Bronze medalist in the long jump at the 2023 ECAC Outdoor Championship
· Also scored fourth in the 4x100, sixth in the 100 meters, and seventh in the 200 meters at ECACs
· Second Team All-Atlantic 10 & silver medalist in the 4x100 relay at the 2023 A-10 Outdoor Championship
· Bronze medalist in the outdoor long jump at the 2023 A-10 Championship, while also scoring sixth in the 4x400 relay and eighth in the 100-meter dash
· Metropolitan champion in the outdoor long jump
· Five-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll |
Steven Zucca
Jr. – Mathematics/Computer Science
· Scored fourth in the 10,000-meter run at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship in a personal-best time of 30:01.56, while being 15th in the 5,000 meters (14:53.58).
· Took second in the 10,000 meters at the IC4A Championship in 30:19.57, while being third in the 1,500 meters at the Metropolitan Championship.
· Scored in both distance events at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship, finishing fifth in the 5,000 meters (14:23.88) and eighth in the 3,000 meters (8:20.31)
· Part of the Metropolitan champion distance medley relay, while finishing second in the mile run (4:14.18)
· Capped a successful 2022 season at the Atlantic 10 Championship, placing 18th overall in a time of 24:41.6.
· Tabbed A-10 Cross Country Performer of the Week once and finished 21st overall at the IC4A Championship.

Jana Rokitta
Gr. – Psychology & Environmental Sciences / Urban Studies (graduate)
· Was fourth in the outdoor high jump at both the 2023 A-10 & ECAC Championships·
· Scored fifth in the high jump at the 2023 ECAC Indoor Championship
· Second Team All-Atlantic 10 & silver medalist in the high jump at the 2023 A-10 Indoor Championship
· Metropolitan champion in the indoor high jump |
Rodolfo Sanchez
So. – Finance
· Scored seventh in the 4x800 relay, while being 13th in the 1,500 meters at the 2023 A-10 Outdoor Championship
· Silver medalist in the 1,500 meters at the 2023 Metropolitan Outdoor Championship
· Scored fifth in the indoor mile & seventh in the 4x800 relay at the 2023 A-10 Indoor Championship
· Bronze medalist in the mile run at the 2023 Metropolitan Indoor Championship, while taking fourth in the 1,000 meters
· Placed second at the 2023 Metropolitan Cross Country Championship

Kyla Hill
Sr. – International Political Economy
· Set or was a part of five school records (indoor 60m, 200m; outdoor 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay)
· Bronze medalist in the 200 meters at the 2023 ECAC Outdoor Championship
· Second Team All-Atlantic 10 & silver medalist at the 2023 A-10 Outdoor Championship in the 200 meters & 4x100 relay, while taking bronze in the 100 meters
· Scored in three events at the 2023 ECAC Indoor Championship (60m, 200m, 4x400)
· Second Team All-Atlantic 10 & silver medalist at the 2023 A-10 Indoor Championship in the 200 meters, while placing fourth in the 60 meters and seventh in the 4x400 relay
· Second place finisher in the 60 and 200 meters at the 2023 Metropolitan Indoor Championship
