Newport News, Va. – (January 31, 2023) - The Atlantic 10 Conference released its swimming & diving weekly awards on Tuesday with
Jessica Zebrowski (Sayreville, N.J.) being named Women's Performer of the Week, while
Christian Taylor (Sydney, Australia) was named Men's Rookie of the Week.
It was Zebrowski's third honor of the season and the second for Taylor.
In two meets this past week, Zebrowski totaled four first place finishes to go with three relay wins in meets against Iona and Massachusetts, both of which Fordham won. She won the 50- (24.60) and 100-yard (52.49) freestyle event against Iona, while setting pool records at Massachusetts in the 100- (55.85) and 200-butterfly (2:03.92) events.
For Taylor, he posted three event wins on the week to go with four relay victories. He began the week by taking first in the 50 freestyle in 21.21 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 46.72 seconds. Then against Massachusetts, he took the top spot in the 100 backstroke event in 50.07 seconds, while grabbing second in the 200 backstroke (1:52.89). Most importantly, Taylor was a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay which capped off a furious comeback to give Fordham its first-ever win at UMass.

st, starting at 5:00 PM.
