Alyssa Kaufman Elevated to Associate Head Coach

Kaufman Enters Her Fourth Year in the Bronx; Rams Reached A-10 Championship Match for First Time Last Year

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham volleyball head coach Ian Choi has announced the elevation of Alyssa Kaufman to associate head coach, effective immediately. Kaufman has been with the program for the past three years.

"Alyssa has been critical to this team's unprecedented success." Choi said, "A bright and empathetic coach who knows how to push and care for the student-athlete, this is well-deserved and I'm happy for her."

During Kaufman's three years in the Bronx, the Rams have taken incremental steps up the Atlantic 10 standings, culminating in last year's run to the Atlantic 10 championship match, a program first. Fordham has totaled a 27-39 overall record over those seasons, including a 15-23 mark in conference play, with back-to-back postseason berths the last two years, a first since 2007-08. At the individual level, two Rams have earned major Atlantic 10 accolades with Kaufman on staff, with a further two garnering All-Conference honors and one earning All-Region honors.

Prior to her arrival at Fordham, Kaufman spent four years at the College of New Rochelle as head coach, also serving as the department's Senior Woman Administrator for five years and one year as the interim Director of Athletics. The Blue Angels won four straight regular season and league championships under her watch, making the program's first-ever appearances at the NCAA National Women's Volleyball Championships in 2016 and 2017. She was named AD3I Coach of the Year after the former and HVIAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Kaufman and the Rams begin their 2022 campaign on Saturday, August 27, against Quinnipiac at 1 p.m. in a match hosted at Stony Brook.
