Mackenzie Colvin
"Mackenzie's a solid addition to the Ramily," Choi said, "She is already experienced dishing the ball with tempo and has intelligent decision-making. She's a great culture fit, too. It's incredibly demanding to excel athletically and academically here and Mackenzie already has the mindset to compete."
Colvin, a 5'9 setter from Virginia Beach, Va., earned four varsity letters at Frank W. Cox high school under coach Tracey Thompson. A four-year starter and one-time captain for the Falcons, Colvin helped her team as a freshman to a Class 6 state runner-up finish, winning Region 6A, and earning All-Region Second Team and a Coaches Award as a result. Her sophomore year, the Falcons won the Class 5 state championship after winning Region 5A, with Colvin taking home All-Region honorable mention accolades. After COVID-19 took away the 2020 campaign, Colvin and the Falcons returned to the court last Fall and repeated as 5A champions and finished runners-up at states. A team captain, Colvin was named All-State Second Team, All-Region First Team, and Team MVP for her efforts, also garnering All Tide Water Player of the Year.
Colvin plays her club ball with Beach Elite where she was a two-time captain and a 2021 AAU Academic All-American. She helped her club to a third-place finish at U17 Northeast Qualifiers. Off the court, she is a member of three National Honors Societies and also served as DECA president.
