Mechanicsville, Va. – (October 29, 2022) – The Fordham cross country team traveled to Pole Green Park in Virginia for the 2022 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning.
The day kicked off with the women's championship, where Fordham was 13
th out of 15 teams. Loyola Chicago competing in their first A-10 Championship took the team title with 54 points, followed by La Salle (74), George Mason (92), George Washington (105), Dayton (113), and Richmond (119).
La Salle's tandem of Elizabeth Mancini and Eleanor Mancini posted a 1-2 finished in time of 16:38.6 and 16:40.2, respectively.
For Fordham,
Madeleine Ryan was the top performer in 47
th place, completing the 5K course in 18:26.5.
Nathania Tan was next across the line in 88
th at 19:08.0 with
Marin Bogulski in 97
th (19:14.3).
Caroline McDonagh finished next in 102
nd at 19:21.8, followed by
Taylor Mascetta (104
th – 19:22.2),
Mary Kathryn Underwood (112
th – 19:34.9),
Helen Connolly (113
th – 19:34.9),
Jilli Jones (127
th – 20:23.2),
Alexandra Thomas (128
th – 20:24.1), and
Sarah Raubenheimer (136
th – 21:02.8).
On the men's side, Fordham was eighth out of 15 teams. Loyola Chicago again took the team championship with a score of 37 points, followed by La Salle (48), George Washington (98), George Mason (103), Saint Louis (153), Saint Joseph's (165), Dayton (193), and Fordham (238).
Loyola Chicago's Chris Devaney and Ryan Martins had a 1-2 finish over the five-mile course (8K), posting times of 23:59.6 and 23:59.7, respectively.
Fordham was led by
Steven Zucca, who had a top 20 finish in the race at 18
th overall in 24:41.6.
Colin Flood was Fordham's next finisher in 40
th at 25:19.2, followed by
Nathan Bezuneh in 56
th (25:34.4),
Rodolfo Sanchez in 64
th (25:45.0), and
Nicolas Grabarz in 69
th (25:47.4).
