Millie Haffety Sets School Records in the One-Meter & Three-Meter Diving Events

Bronx, N.Y. – (October 21, 2022) – It was an exciting finish to Friday's swim meet between Fordham and Monmouth, as the women saw two school records set in a dominant 183-90 win, while the men rallied from behind to earn a 146-134 victory over the Hawks.
 
For the women, Millie Haffety highlighted the day, setting new school records in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.  She scored 317.25 in the one-meter dive, breaking Wendy Espina-Equivel's 2017 record of 308.92, while netting a score of 311.70 on the three-meter board to break Molly Dunn's 2020 record of 310.80.
 
Haffety was one of four multi-event winners for the Rams on Friday.  Emilie Krog grabbed first in both distance freestyle events, clocking in at 10:32.96 in the 1000 freestyle and 5:07.82 in the 500 freestyle.  Jessica Zebrowski won both butterfly events, winning the 100 butterfly in 56.72 seconds, while taking the 200 butterfly in 2:06.31.  Ainhoa Martin rounded out the dual event winners, grabbing the top time in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.80) and the 400 individual medley (4:27.39).
 
Other individual winners on Friday included Clare Culver in the 200 freestyle (1:55.43), Emma Shaughnessy in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.76), Zoei Howard in the 100 freestyle (53.24), and Leire Martin in the 200 backstroke (2:04.58).

In the women's relays, Fordham's team of L. Martin, Shaughnessy, Zebrowski, and Howard won the 200 medley relay in 1:45.47, while Howard, Megan Morris, Madeleine Bergin, and Zebrowski took home the 400 freestyle relay in 3:35.12.
 
For the men, the Rams rallied behind three multi-event winners, starting with Daniel Langlois winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:11.25 and the 400 individual medley in 4:11.48.  Paris Raptis then took first in the 100 (49.11) and 200 (1:52.57) butterfly events.  Marco Petit finished the dual-event winner taking both diving events (1M – 207.10; 3M – 167.33).
 
Fordham also picked up individual wins from Kevin Zahariev in the 100 breaststroke (58.62) and Alex Shah in the 100 freestyle (47.50).
 
The Rams' last win was in the 400 freestyle relay, as Shah, Alex Wilhelm, Taras Zherebetskyy, and Raptis won the event in 3:05.06.RamsesChallengeSW
 
Fordham is right back in the pool on Saturday, October 22nd, as they face off against Marist, beginning at 1:00 PM.
