Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham softball team's (3-3) continues its preseason schedule this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders against Northeast Conference foes. First up is Sacred Heart (1-3) on Saturday starting at noon, then the Rams will host Bryant (0-1) on Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Rams hit five home runs over just five innings in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader against St. John's, one shy of the single-game record, but fell, 4-3, despite a late rally attempt in game two. The ball was flying out of Bahoshy right from the start;
Madie Aughinbaugh and
Sarah Taffet smacked back-to-back home runs to start the bottom of the first, while freshman
Julia Petrovich's first career four-bagger turned out to be the difference in the game. The hosts scored in every inning.
Rachel Hubertus drove in five in the game, two on an infield single and a fielder's choice and then crushing a three-run home run in the fourth. Two batters later,
Julia Martine hit her first home run of the season, driving in
Bailey Enoch, who drove in one earlier in the game on a single.
Kelly Bright also drove one in with a single and Petrovich enjoyed her first multi-RBI game by taking a bases-loaded walk in the third. In the circle, Aughinbaugh tossed four scoreless frames before giving way to
Makenzie McGrath. The Red Storm struck for two runs in the first inning against
Devon Miller and two more later against
Anne Marie Prentiss but the Rams were unable to complete their rally. Taffet drove in
Brianna Pinto in the fifth and two runs scored on a throwing error with the bases loaded in the seventh but Fordham was left stranded for the final two outs.

Series History vs. Sacred Heart
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Â
Series History vs. Bryant
Fordham leads the all-time series, 2-1, since the schools first met in 2017. That year, the Rams defeated the Bulldogs in two six-inning games by a combined score of 24-0, but fell the following year, 5-3. All three contests were on neutral fields.
Â
Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll
The Rams were picked to finish second in the
annual preseason head coaches poll, just one point behind George Washington despite garnering one more first-place vote. The two schools were set to meet in the Championship final in 2019 but due to a rain out, the higher seed, Fordham, moved on to NCAA Regionals despite a share of the championship. It was the Rams' seventh straight league title, eighth overall, and ninth trip to Regionals.
