Kerstin Greene Named the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship Most Outstanding Field Performer; Baseball’s Miguel Jimenez Tosses No-Hitter Against Manhattan in 1990; Srikar Alla Named First Team All-Atlantic 10 for men’s tennis in 2013

May 6, 2007 – Fordham track & field star Kerstin Greene capped her incredible career at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship by being named the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Championship, helping the Rams to a fourth place finish.
 
The award matched her earlier accolades of being the Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship.
 
Greene won the gold medal in the heptathlon event garnering First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors with a school record score of 5,088 points.  On day one, Greene won three of the four heptathlon events, taking first in the high jump (5' 8"), 100m hurdles (14.79) and 200m (26.36) and placing second in the shot put (36' 1.25").  Day two saw her win the long jump with a leap of 19' 2", while placing second in the 800m (2:25.47) and sixth in the javelin (87' 6").
 
Greene also scored individually in the high jump on day one, winning the event with a school record jump of 5' 8.75", while placing third in the long jump (18' 1.75") while she took second in the triple jump (39' 10.5") and eighth in the 100m hurdles (17.76) on day two.
 
She would go on to place fourth in the heptathlon at the ECAC Championship later in the year, and then finished ninth at the NCAA Regional in the long jump.
 
Overall, Greene set a total of 13 individual school records in her time at Fordham, and added a 14th as a part of the indoor 4x400 relay.  She was inducted into the Fordham Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Miguel Jimenez
May 6, 1990 – The 1990 MAAC baseball regular season came to an incredible conclusion as a doubleheader between Fordham and Manhattan opened with the 12th no-hitter in Fordham baseball history.
 
Miguel Jimenez threw a seven-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 win in game one and struck out six, marking the Rams' first no-hitter since Billy Hill in 1973.   The Rams then completed the doubleheader sweep with a 6-1 win in game two, finishing the year with a 16-2 conference mark.
 
The 1990 season ended well for the Rams, winning the 1990 ECAC Championship and earning a berth in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Wichita, Kansas.  It marked the third time in the last four years that Fordham reached the NCAA Regionals.
 
Jimenez went on to be drafted after the 1991 season by the Oakland Athletics in the 12th round.  He made his major league debut in 1993 and spent two years with the A's, recording two wins in 13 career appearances.

Srikar Alla
May 6, 2013 - Fordham men's tennis student-athlete Srikar Alla was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 it was announced by the league office.  Alla, who was named Second Team All-Conference in 2012, earned All-Atlantic 10 accolades for the second consecutive season. He was the third Ram to earn back-to-back Atlantic 10 honors, the first since Chris Kelly in 2001 and 2002.
 
Alla entered the 2013 spring season ranked 20th in the ITA Northeast Regional Rankings and compiled an 18-8 singles record in 2012-13, playing mostly at first singles where he was 11-4 in dual matches. He also picked up nine doubles wins on the season, playing mostly at first doubles.
