Sophomore Outfielder Earns First Career Honor

Newport News, Va. – (March 2, 2020) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday with Fordham sophomore outfielder Jason Coules (Bellmore, N.Y.) earning Co-Player of the Week honors for games through March 1st.  This is his first career weekly award, as he shares the honor with Rhode Island's Josh Brodeur.

Coules batted .562 (9-for-16) with a .636 on-base percentage and .625 slugging percentage, helping Fordham to a 4-0 week on the diamond.  He totaled three-multi-hit games, six runs scored, six RBI, four walks, and three stolen bases.

Coules opened the week going 2-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases in a 13-inning win over Sacred Heart on Wednesday.  He then went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI in the series opening win at Furman.  He capped the weekend with back-to-back three-hit games against the Paladins and tied a career-high with four RBI in the series finale.

Coules and the rest of the Rams begin a six-game homestand on Wednesday, March 4th, as Fordham hosts NJIT at Houlihan Park for a 3:00 PM start.
