Newport News, Va. – (March 2, 2020) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Monday with Fordham sophomore outfielder
Jason Coules (Bellmore, N.Y.) earning Co-Player of the Week honors for games through March 1
st. This is his first career weekly award, as he shares the honor with Rhode Island's Josh Brodeur.
Coules batted .562 (9-for-16) with a .636 on-base percentage and .625 slugging percentage, helping Fordham to a 4-0 week on the diamond. He totaled three-multi-hit games, six runs scored, six RBI, four walks, and three stolen bases.
Coules opened the week going 2-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases in a 13-inning win over Sacred Heart on Wednesday. He then went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI in the series opening win at Furman. He capped the weekend with back-to-back three-hit games against the Paladins and tied a career-high with four RBI in the series finale.
Coules and the rest of the Rams begin a six-game homestand on Wednesday, March 4
th, as Fordham hosts NJIT at Houlihan Park for a 3:00 PM start.
