Bronx, N.Y. – (April 8, 2026) – Columbia's Cole Fellows hit two home runs and drove in six runs, while Jack Kail went 4-for-4 with three RBI, as the Lions defeated the Fordham Rams, 11-5, at Robertson Field at Satow Stadium on Wednesday.
With the loss, Fordham is now 14-18 overall, while Columbia moved to 7-18 on the year.
THE GAME
- Fordham opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI-ground out by Joey Donnelly, scoring Taylor Kirk from third.
- Columbia quickly answered in the bottom of the first, as Cole Fellows hit a grand slam home run for a 4-1 lead.
- The Lions made it 6-1 in the second inning with Owen Estabrook hitting a solo home run to left, while Jack Kail recorded an RBI single.
- The Rams cut the deficit to 6-2 on an RBI single by Mason Dean in the third inning, scoring Tommy McAndrews.
- Columbia extended the lead to 10-2 with a single run in the third and three in the sixth, highlighted by a two-run home run by Fellow.
- Fordham got within 10-5 in the top of the seventh with a three-run inning.Jack Rubin notched an RBI double to left center, while Tommy Markey had an RBI single to account for two of the runs with the final run scoring on a double play.
- Kail wrapped up the scoring with an RBI single in the eighth inning for the 11-5 final.
GAME NOTES
- Alec Murray (0-1) took the loss, allowing six runs over 1.1 innings of work.
- Donnelly led the offense going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, while Anthony Grabau also had two hits.
- Rubin, McAndrews, and Caden Young were all 1-for-4 with a run scored.
